Major Charles Gantz, who performed starting in the 1890s, was billed as "the smallest adult person on earth." Born August 27, 1865, on a farm near Fairfleld, lowa., where he lived, dealt and traded in livestock until he was 30 years old when he started exhibiting himself.
Purportedly he weighed just 30 pounds, was only 18 inches high, and wore a No. 7 hat and size 9 child's shoe. He started school when he was 12 years old and graduated high school.
