GANTZ, 'The Wonder,' who is without doubt the smallest person on earth, was born Aug. 27, 1865, on a farm near Fairfield, la., where he lived, dealt and traded in stock until he was 30 years old, when he started on exhibition. He weighs 30 lbs., is only 18 inches high, wears a No. 7 hat and No 9 child's shoe. Parents normal size, his father standing 6 feet tall; five sisters and four brothers, all large sized people.
