Parasitic Twins

A rare type of conjoined twin, the parasitic twin occurs when a partially formed fetus attaches to another fetus (its twin) very early in development. One fetus grows normally, while the partially formed fetus stops developing but remains connected to its twin.

Types of parasitic twins:
Cephalopagus: The back of the head.
Craniopagus: At the skull.
Epigastric:The upper part of the abdomen.
Ischiopagus: At the pelvis.
Omphalopagus: At the abdomen.
Parapagus: At the torso.
Pygomelia:At the buttocks.
Pyopagus: At the low back or spine.
Rachipagus: At the middle back.
Thoracopaus: At the chest.
