The twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jones were born in Prairie Township, Tipton County, Indiana, on June 24, 1889. Mrs. Jones was only 19 years old and already had a two-year-old daughter, who can be seen in many of the twins' cabinet cards.

Ischiopagus tetrapus twins, the brothers were delivered vaginally after a labor of only two hours and weighed 12 pounds at birth. Their genitals were positioned on the "posterior" side of their shared body. Their promitional material stated that the twins "differed in complexion and color of the eyes and hair."
