Riley's pitchcard was found in fellow sword swallower, Ajax's scrapbook. His real name was Joseph R. Fleming, born in Hillburn, NY, and he performed at Coney Island and with the Andrew Downie Circus. He later went blind and retired to Ramapo, New York.
