E. Barnello is mentioned in Harry Houdini's book, "Miracle Mongers & Their Methods" as one of the great fire-eaters of all time. He wrote two pitch books-- "E. Barnello’s Voodoo Incantations, or How to Eat Fire," circa 1890, and "The Red Demons, or Mysteries of Fire," circa 1893.
