The New Iron Pier at West Brighton, Coney Island
Remarkably detailed and clear view from the beach of this virtual city built over the ocean. Not to be confused with other Iron Piers, this is the "NEW 1880" West Brighton Iron Pier which extended 1000 Feet into the ocean, contained three two-story structures, 1200 bathhouse rooms, and stairways leading down into the water beneath the pier. It was inhabited by saloons, restaurants, bath-houses, a music-pavilion, a 40-foot wide promenade, and various shows. On verso: A list of other views available in this series.
