He and his pal-- standing to his left in a Fedora-- both hold the leash of a puppy which sits on a chair between them. The showman wears a card in his hat, and sports a round pin on his suit jacket, with a ribbon badge below it, and a thick watch chain hangs from his vest. The backdrop is a cheap carnival painted canvas with a banister and overlapping curtains.
