This rare 16 page pitchbook with a hand-colored cover features Shadrack Augustus Shields (1860-1939), the youngest of the four Shields brothers who were collectively known as "The Texas Giants." The brothers first exhibited with Barnum & Bailey Circus in about 1879, with Shadrack, known as Shade, continuing to exhibit himself after his other brothers retired. This booklet was perhaps produced to sell on his later tours with John Robinson Circus, Forepaugh Sells Circus and Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. Entitled "History of S.A.
