Tom Thumb Token, 1846 Victoria Regina (Version 2)
Brass, 22mm token dated 1846 features Tom Thumb standing beside two books, which are half his height. This second version of this token includes his weight, i.e. "15 lbs. WEIGHT" underneath his portrait. On the obverse, is Victoria Regina, then queen of England, as the coins were struck by P.T. Barnum to be sold as souvenirs of Thumb's shows in London. The first version of this token is also dated 1846 but does not list Thumb's weight. A third from the English tour is identical to the second version, though dated 1850.
