Souvenir of Larry Benner's Flea Circus
Printed Photo Postcard. Benner's flea circus is shown in this well-made 1950's three photo montage: a close up of a flea in harness to a tiny cannon, a view of the fleas feeding on Benner's arm with American Lincoln pennies shown for size comparison, and in portrait viewing his charges through a magnifying glass. Benner may have been Mimi Garnaeu's "flea training mentor," as another postcard in the collection is a card written to Mimi by Benner. On verso: A very comprehensive printed description of Benner's show: "This is a 1951 photo of Larry Benner.
