Paul Desmuke, Writing, Displaying His Violin and Guitar On A Postcard Sent To His Sister

Desmuke is shown here writing with his toes on top of a wooden box, built with a cut-out for his instruments. The guitar and violin (fiddle) shown were inserted into the cutout where they lay flat and stable so that Desmuke could play them with his feet. On verso is a handwritten postcard from April 27, 1909 by Desmuke to his sister Myrtle. Desmuke mentions he has quit his "Judgeship" and "probably will travel all the year, up into Canada."
