Paul Desmuke Inside Driver Brothers Tent

This publicity photo and pitchcard sold by the performer "Armless Wonder" Paul Desmuke, knowingly (or accidentally) reveals a few behind-the-tent tidbits of life in the sideshow. Sitting on a chair wrapped in striped canvas, and using a striped Mexican blanket as a cushion, Desmuke is dressed in tie and suit, wearing nylon socks with the ends cut off allowing him to hold his fedora between his toes, tipping his hat to the observer. A steamer trunk sits beside him, and a table in front of him holds pens and other implements of his exhibition.
