Maxey "Needle King"

CABINET CARD. Portrait of Houdini's inspiration for his needle trick-- posed with his top hat in hand. The maker's name has been cut off the bottom of the cabinet card, but by the photo's greenish tone it appears to be by WENDT. On verso, written in pencil: "Compliments of Maxey, Needle King, April 23, 1904, New York City." (Maxey appeared at Huber's Museum in April of 1904, where this care was not doubt signed."
