Issac Stake, Age 33

Isaac Stake shown here in this portrait by G.W. Bradley of Green Bay, Wisconsin appears as a 33 year old man, well coifed and attired. Born without legs, Stake travelled by rail, and disdained dime museums, preferring to get by selling "notions" (pencils, combs, etc.) and photos of himself. He relied on others to pull his wagon when he needed to move.
