Grand & Matchless Exhibition (Wax Show)
An English handbill hand-dated December 4, 1846, it features wax likenesses of many well-known figures of the day. Including English royalty, American performer Tom Thumb, murderers and criminals, including Thomas Wicks, hanged in March of that year and Daniel Good who notoriously murdered Jane Jones in 1842. Also featured was taxidermy (a Bengal Lion), live boa constrictors, an Egyptian mummy, and live acts-- a magician, and a dwarf, Miss Robertson "The Smallest Woman in the known World!
