Four original pages from this 1634 English translation of the Latin work by the French barber surgeon Ambroise Paré. The book is known in English as "Prodigies and Monsters." The work contains some of the first descriptions published in English of both human and animal anomalies-- some based on historical accounts and many based on fantastical imagination.
