Arttoria "Snake Lady"
Printed German Postcard of an attractive woman standing with her arms behind her back, in a studio pose, with cartoonish snakes making a border around her. Artfully designed, though somewhat primitively drawn, above her are illustrated a bird flying over a pyramid with three flamingos. On the side borders are poppy flowers-- completing the exoticism. Printed below her in a box, in a difficult to read handwriting is the name Arttoria [?]. Printed by "Verlag V. Gustav Liersch & Co., Berlin." On verso: Italian stamp, postmarked 1900(?), i.e. too early for this style of postcard.
