Fabulously, "Zip and Ash" do their famed boxing act in this EISENMANN double portrait. "What's It" Zip wears a George Washington medallion as in the other image from this series (Catalogue#1446). "Leopard-Boy" Ashbury strikes a slightly bored, world-weary, downcast expression. Billed as a "Bursting Burlesque Boxing Bout" the two virtual superstars of the sideshow and dime museum circuit perfected this act in about 1884 and managed to book it very successfully for more than 10 years.
