The term “novelty and variety” cover a lot of territory, but mainly designates acts that could be performed across different venues– from traditional sideshow to vaudeville. And back again. We think of ventriloquists, acrobats, novelty musical acts, magicians, animal acts, performers with unusual skills and abilities fitting into this broad landscape.
