Eden Musee (New York)
This New York City dime museum and wax museum began life at 55 West 23rd Street on March 28, 1884.
It famously featured chess-playing "automaton" Ajeeb. Its Winter Garden Theatre became one of the earliest exhibitors of motion pictures.
In 1915 the waxworks moved to Coney Island on Surf Avenue where the Eden Musee continued until it burned down in March 1928, destroying the wax works, exhibits and the chess-playing "automaton" Ajeeb.
