Robert Ripley
Robert Ripley, born LeRoy Robert Ripley on February 22, 1890 was a cartoonist, writer, and showman. Creating the "Ripley's Believe-It-Or-Not"! newspaper strip, a radio show, a television show, museums (Odditoriums), and licensing his brand to front sideshows at World's Fairs, Robert Ripley's name even today is a trademark that denotes the strange, bizarre and unbelievable.
On May 27, 1949, at age 59, he died from a heart attack in New York City.
