Born with three legs, the legendary performer Frank Lentini performed for over 7 decades. He was born Francesco Atavio Lentini on May 18, 1889 in Rosolini, Provincia di Siracusa, Sicilia, Italy. He sailed to the United States in 1898 with his father Natale (who had $40 in his pocket). By 1930 he lived in Wethersfield, Connecticut with his wife Theresa S Murray Lentini (1888-1965).

Lentini was married for over 50 years to Teresa Murray, and had four children, Frank A Lentini Jr., Natale Lentini, Giannina C “Jennie” Lentini (1915-1988), and James J. Lentini.
