Alice Doherty
Little is known about Alice Elizabeth Doherty's life. She was originally billed as "The Minnesota Woolly Baby," and was born March 14, 1887. The fine silken hair covering her body was from 4 to 12 inches in length. Alice was first exhibited as a baby, and continued to appear into the early 1900's, mainly in Midwestern fairs. Alice had one sister and four brothers, all normal. She was said to have had beautiful blue eyes, and as many who were born with hypertrichosis, she only had two teeth.
