This great trade publication, edited by Johnny J. Kline, covered carnivals, circuses, and the rest of the outdoor amusement world. It was first published in April 1925 as The Show World, “The Blue Book of Show Land.”
At some point in about 1929 the publication name was changed to Greater Show World.
The publication ran monthly until about 1950(?). We are currently seeking more information and back issues of this publication.
A.J. Liebling’s classic 1942 collection of essays, The Telephone Booth Indian, contains a great essay on Johnny J. Kline and “The Greater Show World.”
