The motordrome is a perennial show sometimes called the “Wall of Death,” with riders using motorcycles and other motorized vehicles to traverse a slanted or round bowl at high speeds, often in groups who ride the drome together, increasing the thrill and danger.
Motordrome has its origins in the 1870s when wooden tracked Velodromes were built for bicycle riders to have a place to ride freely before the advent of paved paths. Velodrome was used for racing and eventually with angled tracked used for performing feats of daring.
Motordrome today is still widely performed with traveling groups of motorcyclists bringing with them on the road their steel globes which they race around to thrill a public that has never tired of watching this dangerous act.
