Sam Alexander was born sometime in the 1920s, and died in 1997. Working for the Schubert Theater in Chicago his lit cigarette caught gasoline fumes alight and badly burned his face. Wearing a facial prosthetic he was able to pass as normal, but when removed his disfigurement was terrible.
He was employed by the Peter Kortes Sideshow, and later worked to the Ringling Sideshow, and Clyde Beatty. He later ran his own shows quite successfully.
