Nellie Keeler
Nellie Keeler was born April 6, 1875, in Kokomo, Indiana. At the age of three P. T. Barnum discovered Nellie. At the time she purportedly weighed only 11 pounds and stood about 25 inches tall. She traveling with her father, and performed beside the Giant Colonel Routh Goshen for contrast.
By the age of 12 Nellie had grown and was encouraged to retire. Nellie died June 18, 1903, at age 28 from tuberculosis at her home in Versailles, Indiana.
