A woman with many names, Annie or Ruth Shields, was born Christiana Dorothea Dunz in the town of Weinsberg, Württemberg, Germany on January 5, 1862. Annie first appearance was at Austin and Stone's Dime Museum in Boston, on May 13th, 1883.
