This amazing photo of a sideshow managed by Colonel Llewellyn “Lew” Alter, features some great acts: Schlitzie, Bobby “The Bulldog Girl,” Howard Bone “Magician and Escape Artist,” Tam Tam “The Leopard Man,” and a snake charmer. Llewellyn Thomas Alter (1896-1962) was a well-known sideshow operator from the 1940’s until his death in 1962.
