Edith Clifford Sheet Music for "The Eagle And The Girl"
SHEET MUSIC. Incredible souvenir of the beautiful Edith Clifford's brief vaudeville/theatrical career away from sword-swallowing. From the play "The Eagle And The Girl," the sheet music features an Art Nouveau drawing of Edith, and an actual glamour photo of her posing with a stuffed leopard. In the show an enormous mechanical eagle swoops down from above the stage and picks up the singing Clifford. The show originated at the Paris Hippodrome, and involved an elaborate mechanical apparatus of a seemingly animate eagle from above the stage without visible means of support.
