Alzoria Lewis "The Turtle Girl"

Pitchcard. Unusual size (3-7/16" x 4") and cheaply printed pitchcard of Alzoria the longtime Coney Island performer on all fours. Most depictions of people with her anomaly were described as Bear People, so the Turtle Girl designation is unusual. Also unusual is that a name is scratched out from her full name on the back. Perhaps a failed marriage? On verso: Ruberstamped: "MY NAME IS ALZORIA [PA??] LEWIS (THE TURTLE GIRL). I WAS BORN IN FRANKPORT, KY. IN THE YEAR OF 1912. MY PARENTS WERE NORMAL PEOPLE. I HAVE FIVE BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS WHO ARE ALL NORMAL.
