Micrographics
Micrographics and Micrography is the practice of creating drawings or writing using lines of infinitesimal text, so tiny that they are often barely legible to the naked eye and require a magnifying glass to be read.
Ricky Jay’s exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum “Wordplay: Matthias Buchinger’s Drawings from the Collection of Ricky Jay,” in 2016 highlighted the work of Buchinger, an 18th-century German artist who specialized in micrography, among other skills.
Robert Ripley also featured several micrographic artists in his various Odditoriums.
