Kevin Gerrone

Kevin Gerrone has been a life-long fan of the American carnival and sideshow. Growing up in Ohio-- a hot spot for fairs, carnivals and shows-- he remembers being in awe over the showfronts from an early age. He studied painting, drawing, and printmaking at the Cleveland Institute of Art where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1998. His BFA degree show focused on the "flash" of the sideshow and the moods that they invoke. Since then he has collected and archived a wealth of information on the history of the "backend shows." Kevin has also been fortunate and honored to have been commissioned to paint sideshow banners for a number of current day showmen, including Ward Hall and Chris Christ's legendary World of Wonders.
