Appearing in dime museums in the 1880s and 90s, Dufrane, billed as "The Human Anvil," weighed just 145 pounds and was 5-feet 7-inches tall, but allowed blocks of stone to be broken over his chest and performed many feats of strength. He also drove one and two inches spikes through a board with his fist.
