Printed Photo Postcard. Undivided back. This card of a little-known juggler/drum major highlights the importance of the trade publication "The New York Clipper." This promotional card which was sent out to bookers of shows and given away as a souvenir states that Kellehar could be contacted via his "PERMANENT ADDRESS, NEW YORK CLIPPER." Since all but the most successful trouping performers who were booked for an entire year in advance seldom knew where they would be at any given time and didn't often have a definitive address, "The Clipper" served that purpose with its weekly section titled "Letters Held For." Performers on the road could check the list in the newspaper to see if they had mail waiting and could either pick it up when they came through New York or have the mail forwarded to them for a fee. Kelleher "The Drum Major Of Nowadays" appeared with Buffalo Bill when he toured Europe in 1905, appearing in "the Concert," i.e. the circus post-show performance that required a separate ticket.
