Eden Musee "Storming Constantinople"

Tradecard. Beautiful lithographed tradecard depicting a scene from a reproduction of the famous 1876 painting by Benjamin Constant. Called a "faithful reproduction" the copy of this painting was done in order to add prestige and culture to the dime museum experience. The original artist, Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant (1845–1902) painted "L'Entrée du sultan Mehmet II à Constantinople le vingt-neuf mai 1453" in 1876, and the painting is now housed in Toulouse, France at the Musée des Augustins.
